I’m sort of leaning towards more generic words - in the spirit of Plastic and Suck. Not that there are any common words left as domain names, but maybe there’s some variations we can find with a .ly or .it or .co or .de extension…
Interesting domain name endings to toy with

Sadly there’s no .ts TLD so there can’t be a mutan.ts.
Only in that moment realizing that the current domain name abbreviates to HMS, I hereby submit the suggestion of:
The HMS Pinafore
I was coming here for that, too.
There are a lot of historic, obscure ships – especially 4th-6th rates – which have interesting names that are not in general use now and don’t have heavy web presences, if at all. The several HMS Squirrels all had stories.
hmsspeakeasy.ninja
speakeasy.cafe
HMSpirate.community
Forum McForumface.
odds.fish (Odd’s Fish)
The .party TLD has a lot of ironic potential.
So, goldenhind.porn it is, then?

So I’m digging the Howling names. Maybe riff on that?
Vile Insanity is pretty genius, too.
So imaginative.
What about a mascot…
#Jillhammer Jack?
Keeping with the construction theme and (mostly) alliterative names…
Construction Worker Carly
Excavator Erin
Bulldozer Barbara
Steamroller Sally
Heavy Equipment Heather
Tractor Tabitha
Dredger Deborah
Loader Lucy
Forklift Franny
Pile-driver Paula

Oh, I have a name that I thunk up a while back, and it works really well for a big social space.
The name is Big Boat and I think for the domain name we might do bigboat.rocks
EDIT to add. Another possible name is The Big Blue Sea
There’s so many fun boating metaphors you can do with this name.
Everyone can be together in the big boat. Then all the different forums can be named after various seafaring vessels. There can be pirate ships. There can be lifeboats (help). The Love Boat or cruise ships can be the party space.
And then you can do a nautical theme.
Edited to add:
I wrote this all up a while back - it was for communities designed around collaborating together on fun projects, so might need some tweaking
Anchor Team
Supports the entire community through software development, customer support, etc.
Party Boats
Support creative work.
Include features that encourage but do not require, people to actually get to know one another as people, such as video conferencing, chat, and voice functions.
These spaces can be closed, members only spaces so people can operate in privacy.
They also have features like file storage and online software used for group communications, such as EverNote.
Flags
Some boats fly flags such as LGBT+, Female Only, Minority Group, Differently Abled, Religion, etc. to indicate that they are a safe space for these people. These are often subsets of larger communities.
Modboat
Moderators of the discussion boards have their own community to share best practices.
Tug boat
The coaching, healing, and service communities has boats which it can deploy to help people do their creative work.
Lifeboats
There are teams of people who have the skills to do creative work such as book writing, video making, online course creation. Everyone works on a volunteer basis out of love for the creative projects that give them joy.
Love Boat
This is a group of people who volunteer to help referee issues going on in communities. They like to help groups interact better. Sometimes if there is creative work going on in a community, they provide encouragement. Sometimes they push people to keep going.
Pirate Boat
It’s always good to throw a little chaos into the mix.
TED Boat
People can hop into the TED boat and find support to craft and give a TED talk via video to anyone else in the boat.
