I’m impressed! You have time for other things? :open_mouth:

Can one get more prog than KC? To put not too fine a point on it, 2-5 minutes is long enough to put across a fairly complex idea, even in classical music, which can beat prog hands down for sheer length when the need arises.

Come to think of it, one can put across a full formal idea in less than two minutes in Classical.

(We can always take this particular tupic to the “Talkin’ about music” thread. )

Fine, but “Matte Kudasai” isn’t a representative prog rock track.

It happens to be one of my favorites though, but not because it’s relatively short.

I’ve always heard that CDs were 76 minutes so that they could fit all of Beethoven’s 9th on one disc, as opposed to one hour even.

FedEx Bandwidth

That would be 10 Petabytes/Milk Jug at a cost of $6.25 Million, or $625,000/Petabyte vs. the original $750,000/Petabyte. Progress.

The people who debate these things have recommended -V0 for a while.

I did say at least. If I remember correctly -V2 is the point where on ABX testing most people can’t tell the difference between the MP3 and the original. I’m too tired to go searching on Hydrogenaudio tonight though.

I’m sort of the same. I back up to FLAC (CD image and cuesheet) and just transcode from that if I need something that needs to fit on a device with less space. Drive space is cheap enough that I have three separate backups of my music.
