Big OOPS on my part. Did I miss anyone else? Nope.

One male person of color…sorry, still not enough. Shoulda had Rita Moreno up there somewhere. Maybe they need to expand it.

I got to hug my ex-musical partner today!

He is one heckuva mensch. Not just with me.

This struck me hard, as I didn’t comprehend the digital editing process in college (still thinking of cutting and splicing the actual film, like my dad did for home movies), so anything to do with film editing I find hilarious.

As promised in the Today’s View thread:

So, my brother’s AA sponsor heard on the radio (I think) about this roofing company that, after installing 100 paid roofs, installs one free roof for a lucky homeowner. He told my brother about it and my brother called the company and I’m getting a new roof put on my house absolutely free this Friday.

I’ve gotten a car for free, but that was from a Lady-Bountiful-wannabe. This is a company. Victor’s Roofing, Canton, MI, if you wanna Google it. Victor himself came out. Very nice young man (year older than my son).

It’s weird. But then again, I didn’t get to sleep till after 2 am today and got up at 7:30 cos he was due here 'round 8:30. And Sugarplum had nested next to my head about ten minutes before my alarm went off! AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

That bit about being around positive or negative people and the transference of energy is a real, significant thing.

And although it’s not quite the same, it’s one reason I like watching old sitcoms. Where you can laugh at all the problems, and at the end of the episode they’re all solved and everybody’s happy. It’s not reality, but it has echoes of that positive energy and just being exposed to positive energy, even if it’s just play-acted, does help.

I never thought of it that way before. Makes so much sense.

Yep. It’s why we watched “Laverne & Shirley” in the morning before I’d take my son to school instead of the news.

So, last night, when I went to check on what was going on in the back yard, a momma possum was eating some dry cat food and one of her babies fell off her back. Possums don’t go back for their young, I found out - and fortunately its eyes were open. I kept it in our old wooden cat-carrier and called and left a message for a wildlife rehabber from the MI DNR website, and she came and picked it up today (she takes care of possums and turtles only). I’m gonna miss that little critter.

My son took these shortly before the wildlife rehabber got here:

I know! When I first saw it on the pavement under my picnic table, I thought it was a sugar glider (it was dark, lol) and I was all ZOMG - then I realized what it was, and I was all SQUEE!

It also fed off of my fingertip, on which I’d placed a dab of wet cat food. And it opened its mouth to hiss - but no noise came out! OMDARG, it was sooooooo adorb!

Inspiring.

My ex-BFF, whom I’d known for over thirty years before I ended our friendship, bears a strong resemblance to Ms. Elliot, only shorter (she was 4’11), so it’s bittersweet to watch. Also watching a bio of Cass.
