Seconded. He doesn’t deserve it.
To mis-quote the late George Carlin: “I wouldn’t f%^k him with a stolen dick!”
Zackly!!
Tunnock’s teacakes no longer a threat to the RAF.
I wonder if Trump will block extradition?
Had a girlfriend who’d occasionally say, “I wouldn’t fcuk him with someone else’s pussy!”
Not even with someone else’s strap-on.
Tunnocks got themselves boycotted for supporting transphobes though.
My boycott is so effective that I found a very out of date box of Tunnocks Teacakes at the back of a cupboard. They were my childhood comfort food, so they would have been eaten if Tunnocks hadn’t decided to fuck around and find out.
There used to be an Italian restaurant in the San Fernando Valley, CA that served perfect NY style pizza, ultra-rare for SFV back then: Mama Palermo’s. We’d always show up there after company softball games. Always, after being served our pies, Mama Palermo herself, in (I believe) her 70s, would pop out to give our not too rowdy group a firm talking to. Us: “Yes, Mama!” A charming curmudgeon. Maybe it was just her schtick for the business, but it was fun.
Way better’n a hat what says, “Nobody likes me”!
Not sure if what I’m about to type fits in this thread…
I took Kidd Jr. and his good friend to see The Minecraft Movie this late afternoon…
It was a helluva thing.
Haven’t seen this much audience activity at a movie since the last time I went to a Rocky Horror showing.
The theater was about 1/4 full of tweens and teens. Honestly, there were maybe a couple other parents in the house.
All these kids were super excited to see this movie. This game defined their COVID lockdown, in many cases. They’ve all been playing this game since they were about 7, even if some of them were 10 today or if they were approaching adulthood.
They knew dialogue lines from the trailers and shouted them out as the lines were delivered on screen. They applauded as the movie title finally made the screen. They applauded again after Steve said a line I couldn’t make out because they were all shouting it. And applauded again at several points where Steve did things, presumably, he did in game that are cannon. As the credits rolled, many kids shot out of their seats to give the movie a Standing-O.
This movie may well be GenZ’s first, bona fide, cult classic.
I’m glad I experienced this movie with it’s expected cohort. It was really fun. The closest from my own experience was Ferris Beuler’s Day Off, and socio-economically, this movie was sooooo, so much better.
(Realizing as writing this comment that, as a family, we watched a lot of Jack Black movies as Kidd Jr. was growing up. Hats off to Mr. Black. And…The Metal. )
A movie experience that i had that was rambunctious was Something About Mary. Saw that in theater when it came out as a high schooler, and in the theater there happened to be high schoolers from at least 2-3 schools so it was like 90% teenagers and it. was. rowdy. So rowdy that the projectionist refused to even start the movie because people wouldn’t settle down, and halfway through the movie some lady took a phone call and the audience turned on her and started to boo her. The movie theater threatened to stop the movie but they relented but throughout the movie we were so loud, honestly it was a fun experience.
Mom bought us tickets to see the 1st Star Wars movie when I was in 6th grade. The lines were so long, we had to get tix for the showing after the next one. We went to a nearby mall, got summat to eat, and did a ton of window shopping before going back.
We waited in line for ages just to get into the theatre after the previous showing.
It was a great film, as anyone who saw it back then at a theatre can attest.
Mom and I got the crowd going: we began booing and hissing the bad guys, and next thing U knew, the whole crowd got in on the act w/o our even starting it! We - and they - cheered the good guys/whenever something great happened…and when Han and Chewie suddenly returned near the end, the entire theatre erupted in cheers, applause, and shouts of joy!
When it was over, everyone cheered and applauded.
We were very happy to help everyone enjoy the film - and themselves - so much more than if they’d just sat and watched while nomming popcorn XD
A nice reminder that we still have to find a chance to watch our blu-ray version of Akita Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress and uninterrupted.
So.
My son’s bestie got here from s. CA after he and his stepmom left on 3/27 and they got here on 3/31. I finally got to meet him today. He’s a big man (weight probs. due to chem exposure in Iraq when he was in service), but no longer needs a scooter to get around.
And…instant like on both sides! I’m so relieved and happy! He told me Steve is the younger brother he never had. So wonderful!
I’m glad to hear y’all hit it off i know you were worried about that.
