And now for some good news

By golly they are! I’m completely out of touch on my RWNJ conspiracies & terminology… and I must admit that I’m somewhat proud of that fact.

@Nonentity : I suspect that “something I don’t like” will be the default definition.

Funny how some people need to borrow new words for those they loath. Politically correct, librul, woke.

I prefer the old standards–assholes, dipshits, fuckwads, etc.

Scrotes is a good one, too.

It doesn’t look like we’re over the finish line quite yet, but I still cried a little because Jimmy Carter has been such a positive force in the world, and I hope he gets his wish. Defeating Guinea worm is an amazing legacy.

This is good news in and of itself, but if I get approved for it, it will be even better news:

I’ve found the form that I need to fill out to obtain a property tax exemption from the city of Warren, MI.

I have been leery of doing it in the past, as I was told it would involve being interviewed by a 3-person panel; I know I’d break down into tears if I had to do that. So messy!

BUT…I just realized that the person who told me this information lives in another county and city! And it’s been years since I was informed about what the Assessing Dept. of Warren calls a Principal Residence Exemption.

I chose the wrong form from the list. I should’ve chosen the POVERTY (all-caps mine) Exemption form. And it does require appearing before a panel of other people.

I also got turned down for SSI - I’m not disabled enough (how the fuck do they know? Why isn’t a personal interview required?). I have 60 days from today, the day I received the turndown by USPS, to make an appeal. I realize that this is part of the system now, to weed out the frauds. However, the idea of having to hire an attorney to represent me really pisses me off. It’s rigged, isn’t it? It’s like the gov’t and lawyers have some sort of deal with each other. When did this start? It’s demeaning, IMNSHO, to the disabled, especially those of us with mental and emotional issues that are treatable with Rxs, but just enough to remain operational at home, much less in a work situation!

SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My son has an interview for a job in the deli at Meijer! It was weird because he got the call while we were in the store today!
