So the local workers co-op opened a HUGE liquor store today. Thing rivals the size of most supermarkets, with a selection to match. By the time I escaped, I had spent a whopping $227.89. Among their selection includes Russian vodka, Jamaican rums, and Japanese whiskey.
I am hot-toddy-bound at the moment.
I’m trying to work my way across the bottom shelf

FTFY
Ooh. I can see how you wound up shopping so much at that store.
so, in related news, i was diagnosed with gout in my right foot this past week, so i’ve been gimping about while the meds work their science magic. guess what one of the main triggers for it is? BOOZE. i’m refusing to give up booze, so i’m determined to figure out which things are the culprit and just how much of the triggering kind(s) i can have before it causes a flare-up. more testing, more testing!
I actually went to a bar tonight.
weirdly, they only had Johnny Black and Dewars for scotch. So, I ordered Black, a double, neat, with a water back – no ice. The guy next to me said something like “finally, someone who knows how to order!”
turns out, he skates for the local shop (Stratosphere) and he put me on to the new (ish) semi-underground skate spot built by skaters.
and my homies came and I bought a round since I’m not completely broke anymore. good night.
Bourbon at home. We leave for Christmas Tuesday, so I really just want to chill here and write drunk.
Awesome!
You know you’re in the wrong sort or bar when you ask for “Glenfiddich neat” and the order taker asks what that means and I say that it’s just the liquor without any ice or anything else.
And they returned with a shot glass.
And this was supposed to be the classy dinner joint.
I don’t drink and even I know that’s just wrong.
I braved the cold, heavy rains yesterday for a bottle of J.T.S. Brown, and then went back to my pool tournament.
Oh, wait, no. I bought a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream.
Never noticed this thread before. It’s starting to get cool enough for jackets, and I just received a gift of a bottle of rye from LaCrosse, Wisconsin, so I guess I’ll join the seasonal conversation.
That is the prettiest, best-designed rye bottle I’ve ever seen.
