Not like there’d be any consequences for him, but my understanding* is that they could really nail one’s ass for flashing a fake badge when purporting to do actual official business. (*Context for this was a militia-LARPing-type showing some sort of badge at a get-together, and one of the other guest’s wife was an an actual cop)
