Especially when my identity itself seems to be impermanent.

When I’ve with the idea of getting a tattoo recently, the idea had been to represent friends who’ve passed and people I used to be. Mementos of the impermanence. Still haven’t done it, though. Maybe I can find some jewelry instead.

That’s just it. I can’t think of a moment that is so integral to my identity that it should be represented on my skin. Especially when my identity itself seems to be impermanent.

I’m kind of coming from the opposite direction. I know exactly what tattoo I want to get, but I haven’t “earned” it yet. And even when I have, I’m not sure I’ll want to get it by that point.
