Mark Kelly knows a thing or three about dignity, service and support!
fuck fetterman!
It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.
It’s ok because she’s Very Concerned about the bill. The one that she voted for anyway (after getting some extra concessions for her state).
Oh, Lisa. If only!
/s of course
I wonder if the R’s voting “no” has something to do with this…?
Jeffries seems to have joined the fight.
Sadly, I find this to be true more and more…
I’m think I’m here at this point
I didn’t know that the House had an equivalent of the Filibuster. But now I’m reading that House Leaders have unlimited speaking time. Good to see him put that privilege to use! I hope that he breaks some records today, and that we can expect more of this in the future.
It’s not even a formal rule. It’s just tradition. Which makes me wonder why Johnson hasn’t invoked some bullshit formal rule to stop it. It’s not like he cares about political norms. It makes me wonder . . .
Nancy Pelosi did this a while back, went on for 8? 12? hours
(Looks it up)
It was 8, back in 2018
Kevin McCarthy did it once, too.
Only 1 Republican NO vote so far. Fuuuuck…
