I would go further and say “absolutely no discussing the budget UNTIL Musk and DOGE are gone and the firings stop. Only then will we debate the budget. Negotiations come next, and then we’ll vote but we won’t pass anything that includes cuts for the rich.”
The fiscal year 2025 proposal includes approximately $4.5tn in tax cuts alongside increased spending for defense and border security. To offset these costs, the plan tasks congressional committees with finding about $2tn in spending reductions over the next decade.
That math isn’t good.
$4.5T in tax cuts this year. And every year going forward they can get away with it.
$2T in spending reductions over ten years. So about $0.2T reduction per year.
This same party screams about the national debt. That tax cut for this year alone is about 12% of the national debt.
This is economic vandalism, and it’s being used to justify social vandalism.
At this point, I’m inclined to believe that enriching themselves is of secondary concern to watching the rest of humanity suffer. I really think most of them are cruel assholes who see the cruelty as the point.
Gee, if only people could have been paying attention to the million-billion articles people have been writing about Yarvin and others lo this past decade or more… But as @Millie_Fink said, I guess it is better late than never…
I dunno, seems to me that I can’t ultimately know which is foremost inside them, Greed or Cruelty (motoring along with at least a third, Stupidity). It’s all just horrible, the way we’ve let these ugly-inside people gain so much power.
Yeah. Williams has his problems too - in the pocket of the local billionaires - Jeff Yass etc. Who were backing him for Mayor years ago on a Charter School agenda.
