You think he let’s his wife leave the house uncovered back in Louisiana… they have a covenant marriage, so no house-leaving for her!

My phone pulled this from that tiny image:

Dear Attorney General Bondi,

I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with. Over the past two weeks, “Border Czar” Tom Homan has gone on multiple forums threatening political prosecution against me, citing resources I distributed informing my constituents and the American public of their constitutional and legal rights.

On February 13, 2025, Mr. Homan announced that he had asked the Deputy Attorney General to open an
Investigation, and that will I be “in trouble now.” It has been 14 days since Mr. Homan first threatened to weaponize your agency, but 1 have not yet heard any referral from the federal government. Homan’s actions undercut core Constitutional rights and further transparency is necessary.

I am sure you aware of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Indeed, last week, Vice President Vance said that “we may disagree with your views, but we willfight to defend your right to offer it in the public square.” Mr. Homan’s repeated attempts to use your agency to politically intimidate duly elected officials are a textbook threat to the right to free speech in the United States. Threatening criminal proceedings for exercising the First Amendment is itself a violation of the First Amendment.

Educating the public about their rights, especially in a time of rising uncertainty, is a key part of our responsibility as elected officials. A government that uses threats of DOJ investigations to suppress free speech IS a threat to all, regardless of political ideology. Please respond no later than March 5, 2025, with an update on the Department of Justice’s response to Mr, Homan’s request and transparency as to whether my office or myself is actively under investigation for exercising their First Amendment rights and executing on our congressional responsibilities.

Sincerely,

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Member of Congress

HAKEEM JEFFRIES: It certainly is the case that we’ll need to see some mature leadership from the Trump administration.

CNN: Do you think there will be some mature leadership?

HAKEEM JEFFRIES: Congressional Democrats in both the house and the senate will urge that this breach be repaired

More mealy mouthed uselessness from Dem leadership. Fire growing everywhere, and they’re still telling us there’s no need for water.

Still rearranging those deck chairs, I see.

The sort of thing that would give me hope if all those angry Republicans were capable of learning, but I guaran-fucking-tee if you could send all of them directly back in time from that town hall to the voting booth, they’d vote for Donald all over again in a heartbeat. COVID proved that they will literally die before listening to reason or admitting fault. The leopards ate their faces, but they will thrust their bleeding, skinless visages right back into those jaws as soon as they’re given a chance.

EDIT: And looking at the comments, it’s distressing how many people still don’t get that and think Republican voters are going to wake up and turn back into semi-decent people any day now if they just get impacted badly enough. Maybe I’m biased because I don’t have any family or friends who turned MAGA, but I’m firmly of the opinion that once they’re gone, they’re GONE and nothing will bring them back- and not a single shred of evidence I’ve ever seen has proven otherwise so far.

Nah. That’s true for some, but they are humans, not zombies. I do agree that trying to deprogram any of them is time better spent elsewhere, but I’ve known Foxheads who saw the light and did 180s.

“protect American lives…” from Canadian cartels? The really sad part here is that his rubes will think this is a statement of fact and probably be upset that he didn’t choose “kinetic action.” God, what a mess…
