Yeah, I am not surprised. She has some state-wide support, for sure, but the reality is that there is still a lot of moderate… ish? Republicans in the state, who at the very least don’t want to be seen endorsing outright, vocal bigotry and conspiracy theories… they prefer to push through bigoted legislation that feeds enough of the base to keep them in line, so they can continue with the pro-business policies. Kemps big achievement this year was the big tort reform bill the muscled through… He also signed the transphobic shit that the GOP got through, but he was not vocal about those as he was about this. He’s also been talking major tax cuts, too.
She’s still just that bigoted mean girl who didn’t get invited to the party, so called the cops on everyone… Just a mean, bigoted, cruel asshole who wants to make everyone else feel as shitty as she does on the inside.
No, but he’d get the moderate republican vote and those who’d vote against anyone with a D by his name. He has a much better chance than most Trumpers.
I think that’s the inherent weakness of the current Repubs, though. Almost half of their base is MAGA and just more than half are “moderates.” A Repub can’t win if they are missing either demographic. Kemp would be a stretch, since he didn’t help ill Douche, but didn’t actively harm him. Raffensperger is more likely to get death threats than votes from MAGA.
Porn has actually already been upheld by the Supreme Court as First Amendment protected. I’m at work so certainly not able to provide a link for that, but I know that was brought up numerous times in a recent Presidential term…might be Bush?
But we all know SCOTUS right now is also enjoying ruling from the bench like Trump and his EOs so who knows.
An additional subtext here is that Schumer apparently could have stopped this kind of appointment at any time and chose not to, and meanwhile he had so little control over his caucus that they just waved them in through the gate with zero resistance.
