I just cannot comprehend that these are still permitted. This is evidence of the urge to classify some people as other-than-human and therefore not deserving of human rights. Something we will probably see a lot more of going forward, sadly.

The new law begins a process to phase out in Illinois a two-tiered system established by The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. Illinois businesses and providers who pay sub-minimum wage have until 2030 to comply.
Eighteen other states have similar legislation.

There are so many examples of such pioneers, and the Americans with Disabilities Act really is unique in the world because it is built on so much of this type of work. Some disabilities have more support in some countries, but no country (that I know of) has the broad scope of disability coverage that the U.S. does. This is a huge thing to lose, especially due to assholes.
