Ah, so nobody important
nonalcoholic hard cider would be just apple juice?
Also, excuse my ignorance but what is hard-seltzer? Is like a prepackaged rum and cola?
Non-alcoholic craft beers are something I’m looking into these days. My father wants to cut alcohol consumption but most commercial “0,0” offers are basically tainted water. I have been told by friends some craft beer have FLAVOR!
fermented sugar water with flavors added. Some taste good.
Those are the ones i don’t agree with the commentary on. I wouldn’t drink one, but I can see why people who no longer drink alcohol might want one.
I will take your word for it. As someone who, for reasons, has to trade quantity for quality, I know for a fact that HFCS liquors tend to give terrible hangovers, so this is something I will try to actively avoid!
Give me back my japanese whisky highball!
I’m sure the stuff you buy in stores probably uses that sugar, but you can use any fermentable sugar. Hard seltzers are typically only around 4-5% ABV.
so basically… a beer that doesn’t taste like beer. I know a lot of people who probably would enjoy that. Makes sense.
A quick amazon supermarket search later
Yep, they sell them in spain too. They seem to brand them as prepackaged cocktails here. Pretty expensive. I can make a lot of kalimotxo for that price!
Kalimotxo is one of the staples for non-beer, low alcohol drinks. Equal parts cheap wine and cola. Surprisingly tasty. Good wine does not work well. We also have tinto de verano -equal parts wine and lemon soda - and of course the classic sangria, which has little to do with what they serve in clubs nowadays, which is wine, soda water, and fruit. Cold beer and sangría was meant to be consumed by the whole family -INCLUDING CHILDREN- in the heat of summer!!

Maybe your dad would like these:
My wife liked the apple beer when we in Salt Lake City. Much different from apple juice or cider.
If folks will indulge a brief non-meme tangent, all the talk of hard seltzer reminded me of an experience I had the one time I tried one of those. It wasn’t a White Claw, but something similar to that, and it caused intense, weird pain throughout my whole body, something that neither seltzer or alcohol have ever done to me before on their own. I was with a D&D group at the time and had to excuse myself to go sit somewhere else for almost half an hour before the pain faded away. Has anyone else had this experience, or any idea why that would happen?
Thanks for the suggestion but i’m taking him to shop locally, namely here:
So they don’t kill me with shipping and handling
maybe some kind of allergic reaction?
I didn’t think of that!
That made me laugh.
I could imagine that being done in exactly the same way on “Mr. Show.”
