I caught this one yesterday, and I really like it. Itās a jumble of different genres, but it works, and the lyrics are fairly positive too:
(I think I need to listen to some more of this artist.)
I donāt recall it, but itās good! And I recognize the clothing and hairstyles from pictures Iāve seen from when my mom and dad were young.
While this song and group from 2000 were never my cup of tea, I will own up to the fact for the last Twenty-One years, I thought they were singing about their HALF-pipe.
What? Skaters were popular back thenā¦
Since Iām now in a band as the lead vocalist, Iāve got this in my head (not our take on itā¦yet); Iād never heard of any version of it till I joined the band and had to learn it.
My favourite Union Station tune.
Itās a pure instrumental, but the emotional palette and conversation between the players is astonishing.
Iām typically not much into country, though Iāve been fond of some crossover artists like Chris Isaak and Alannah Myles. Now Iāve got another one to add to the list: Orville Peck. I heard some of his music played on one of the Twitch streams I watch, and itās really good!
Iāve seen his voice compared to Roy Orbisonās, and something about the sound production reminds me of Motownās Big Sound, just a little. Plus the cinematography of the video is just gorgeous!
Heās awesome!
I found him via this cover, which you might also enjoy (Aesthetic Perfection doing cellar sessions due to pandemic preventing live concerts):
And youāre right, Orville Peck really has that crossover appeal. Heās crazy good. Guyās got a voice and knows how to use it.
Iād really love to see Orville Peck and Daniel Graves performing together - just imagine what that duet would be like.
Yāknow, I donāt even have to hear any song outside of my head to have it be an earworm. Just the sight of this made the chorus start going in between my ears. Other times, just the memory of a title does it.
sigh.
