I wasn’t going to clog up this thread with that. I was going to lay out my process and resources in the thread focused on that effort, if I get people interested in working on it.
I say start the thread!
I definitely need something, anything, other than a heart emoji.
Some Republican lawmakers have gone on the record about what a terrible choice this guy is and are expressing doubt that he’ll get confirmed, but my money is on them all caving and voting for confirmation when this is all said and done.

New headline:
Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence
I guess the good news(?) is that Trump seems to be poaching several House and Senate members and with an already razor thin R majority in both chambers, who knows what will happen. (I realize the House isn’t yet called for Republicans, but at this point it’s all but guaranteed.)
Mrs. Ficus texted me about that and my reaction was “FFS”. I was somewhat surprised he didn’t nominate Alina Habba, but maybe he’s hoping to give her a SCOTUS seat after he gets Eileen Cannon an appointment.
Every one of Trump’s nominees just seems to get worse and worse.
Nope. none are sufficient…
He’s trying to find the most incompetent person for the job in the hopes of triggering mass resignations, cuz the only one who would want to work for that douchebag must be a loyalist.
Maybe, but the biggest common denominator I’m seeing is object loyalty. I’m surprised MTG hasn’t come up yet.
Someone needs to update the Wikipedia entry for kakistocracy.
Well the fuckers voted for it… this is what they’re getting. Stupid assholes, the lot of them.
OMG, I thought you were kidding. “Ha, that’s pretty amusing!” I thought to myself.
And I just saw a headline that confirmed it.
Hey, I’m not qualified to be president, and I’m the best one ever! Why does anyone else I’m working with need to be qualified? As I always say, I love the uneducated!
Jesus wept. Who’s going to hold things together for the next four years?
The last time around was a dumpster fire, this time around is the Springfield Tire Fire.
May these department appointment nominations steel the resolve of the rank & file Civil Servants to persist and persevere over the looming darkness.
GOP senators are stunned—and not in a good way—by Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz for AG.
Not sure why the fuck they would be. This is a textbook Trump move. Matt Gaetz is a MAGA supplicant with a well-known name. Why would anyone who has been paying the slightest amount of attention over the last decade imagine that Trump would pick a qualified candidate over someone like that?
Chuck Grassley was so exasperated by reporters asking him about Gaetz that he stopped talking and stood there stone-faced for 30 seconds
Looks like they bricked another one. Someone ought to check the warranty on these guys.
