Why would they burn the cash? /s
For any who may need it…
You’re awesome!
I applied, didn’t get the call. Maybe next cycle
may be causing stress, anxiety?
I woke up at 5 AM with a headache after a combination of really vivid weird-ass dreams, my brain doomscrolling in my sleep. Minutes later my phone alerted with a flash flood warning, and the cat decided very forcefully that he needed affection and to practice the opera he’s been trying out for.
I almost called off work (I work from home on Tue-Fri) citing an “unexpected” internet outage that’s expected to last the next couple of days, and I’m trying to decide whether I want to install Abzu after my shift or just unplug the router.
Had a long talk with my trans young’un last night. She has been experiencing a huge amount of stress (for obvious reasons) and brought up, unprompted, that she had devised an “exit strategy” if this goes sideways. Asked for clarification, she said “I can’t live in a country like that.” Scared me and his her mom to death. Hugs to all in that state.
(Edit: Yes, even after this many years, I still screw it up and misgender her. Sigh…)
Not unexpected, but…
Was anyone surprised by this? The poster manchild for toxic masculinity endorsing the god of toxic masculinity? How could it be otherwise? Assholes endorsing assholes, all the way down.
I chose to save a few errands I need to do for today so my mind will be focused on other things. I may visit a restaurant where I can use my EBT food stamps for a rare treat such as a cheeseburger. As for this evening when I return home, I also may indulge in a beer and Clamato.
Fingers crossed for all the wonderful Americans!
Wait, Dubya moved to Georgia?!
Surprised Rogan waited so long. It’s kind of the 11th hour for endorsements. Would have had more impact 2 weeks ago
My county often rents school buildings for polling stations. They usually have parking and guns are not allowed. Passed by the high school walking kitty to her school and there was a line 50 people deep at 7:25am. I’ve never seen that when the high school vestibule has been used for polling before.
I hope that is a good sign. I will weep for joy if Texas goes to Kamala and Walz. I’ll settle for Allred kicking out Cruz and the hyper local issue about the fire department getting shut down.
Cookie Monster assured readers that it would be all right if they decide to take a break. He didn’t say what you could take a break from, but election watching would presumably be included.
“It even better if it includes cookies,” the monster added, speaking in his truncated way.
@Tammi_2.0, I think he’s calling for you!
It’s not a day off for them? Election day always was for me growing up, and the elementary school cafeteria was the usual voting place.
“It even better if it includes cookies” Vote Cookies!
Too many? More like an excellent way to keep your skills up, I think. Rock on!
One nice thing to cling onto today is that no matter what happens, today is the last day we have to live in a world where Donald Trump is running for President.
I’ve never known a school to make election day a holiday. They had November 1 off, which I thought was nice. They won’t have veteran’s day off, which struck me as weird but will allow my spouse and I to go on a date.
I worry a bit about election issues spilling over into the high school. But I love the fact the kids who are 18 have a place to vote, right there.
What are the other two languages on your sticker (other than English and Spanish)… we have English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese on ours… Maybe Chinese, too?
In both WV and VA election day is a school holiday, and generally the day before is a teacher workday.
