I am so anxious today and praying it’s a big blue wave.
I’m a member of r/KamalaHarris and there are tons of posts there from Republicans who are crossing party lines to vote Democrat for the first time this year. There are a lot of people posting that they got their elderly parent out to vote. One person created a burner account to get some tips for voting blue even though her controlling, evangelical husband and his parents are putting a lot of religious pressure on her to vote for Trump.
I’m hopeful that despite how the party affiliations are breaking with early voting that enough people are voting secretly against their family’s wishes or are crossing to the blue side that Demoncrats will take this one home.
The Harris rallies are so full of energy and at the Trump ones, everyone seems so bored. But, there we won’t know until all the votes are tallied.
If you haven’t voted, please do!!!
Right? Until of course they leave, halfway through his seemingly unending stream of bilious blather.
Anyway, thanks for the hope-inspiring field work!
Sounds like… oh maybe Iran.
Gilead was based on Christofascist wet dreams. When fascism comes for the US, it will come wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross, or something to that effect.
Wrapped around a flag, kissing it.
Just waking up here. May the force be with us all.
I generally won’t start a conversation with my own brother because of his past intolerant rants re politics & my friends.
I already know who he is voting for, even though we have not spoken of it.
I can’t handle the soap opera conflicts that arise between people, so I distance myself from certain people, regardless of relation. Some say blood is thicker than water, but sometimes blood can be a curse.
That’s part of why I feel so fucking disappointed and stupid. I thought he was more Liz Cheney conservative than fascist apologist. But nope. He believes Harris is the greater evil. It really hurts that he apparently isn’t who I thought he was and I didn’t see it. Talking with my spouse, he saw it.
I’m much more worried about his daughters now.
Looks like Filipino, Spanish and Polish. In my neighborhood I think hindi would be a good add.
Keys represent! mum and i were numbers 84 and 85 to vote in-person at our precinct. no lines, no fuss. storm is coming and wind and rain are here ahead of schedule. didn’t dampen our resolve to vote to put our first woman president into office!
oh, and “yes” on abortion rights and legal cannabis!
now it is time to unplug and go print something in the shop.
see you on the other side?
Longest line I’ve been in to date. Moved fast though. Several moms in line ahead and behind me with their young daughters in tow, pretty sure I know who they’re voting for
I wish I could give this more than one heart, so here are extras:
Maybe try to turn towards him when you vomit.
Here we go…
