Elections 2025-2026

MAD Magazine mentioned it in their version of Moonraker. The Venice gondola turning into a Hovercraft, and Bond quipping “If Teddy Kennedy had this at Chappaquidick he’d be president by now.” (1979, two years before the Space Shuttle actually launched.)
It was the first time I came across the name Chappaquidick and had to look it up.

This shit just isn’t helping going forward.

The guy who needs to be beat up is in the White House now.

Fighting last year’s battle is a mugs game- and doesn’t do shit to help the people being hurt right now.

Agreed. Maybe once old Joe has moved onto the next life, and we’re not in the middle of a hostile government takeover, we can figure out what happened… But we need to focus right now.

“Donald Trump is the single greatest threat to our democracy. Our best chance to defeat him is to support Joe Biden in this election,” O’Rourke said. “Amy and I voted for him in the Texas primary [last] Tuesday and are looking forward to voting for him again in November.”

-FEBRUARY 27, 2024

I mean; where was this guy then?

In the veto, Youngkin also stated how the General Assembly did not adopt his proposed amendments, including a “conscience clause” exemption that would protect religious freedom for physicians and medical institutions.

“I remain morally opposed to the content of HB 174 as passed by the General Assembly,” Earle-Sears wrote on the legislation, which prohibits officials from denying marriage licenses based on sex, gender or race. A copy of the signed bill was obtained by Virginia Scope through a public records request filed with the House Clerk’s Office.

Opposing same-sex and interracial marriage is not really a good look for the Republican nominee for gov.

Republicans are fascists, and somehow this even applies to the Black women fascists (a string of words which confuses the hell out of me, but here we are.)

Agreed. You didn’t hear a lot of GOP even talking about Bush Jr after he left office. That alone allowed him to refurb his image greatly.

Honestly, Biden, Hillary, and Kamala need to just step back into the shadows for a while.

Yes, but it’s not just them keeping their names in the headlines, though.

This isn’t true though. There were plenty of call-out articles about his painting, donations, family… Money shenanigans.

Like this just literally isn’t true about Bush.

What was different is that the rage bait machines weren’t as well oiled online though.

He did charities, met people, and was active. Same with the Obamas. Gave speeches. Yes. Speeches even. This is what politicians do.

Honestly Dems online and off make the GOP’s work easy. So busy fucking their own interests over and shitting on each other. Like a crab bucket. Who wants friends and allies like this? Who wants leadership like this either?

No one.

And they vote like it.

That’s especially rich coming from a guy who doesn’t have a great track record winning elections.

They pretty much did step back. Rarely making public comments.

Though Harris isn’t likely to continue in that. She could make another run. She certainly might end up in a different administration in the future. Like John Kerry.

Agreed. The only references to Biden I want to hear now are examples of the hypocrisy / gaslighting coming from :tangerine:  and the GOP. We need to keep comparisons like these ones from Seth Meyers front and center until the message sinks in with their enablers:

Interesting in pointing out that the shift started earlier than thought. Lacking in not describing why. Civil rights were very much an issue in the 50’s too.

Probably worth looking at the group of white working class voters in more detail. Find some progressive wedge issues.

If only people had known he was gonna do this… like if they’d been waving “mass deportations” signs at the GOP convention or something like that… Sadly, it was a HUGE secret that he only mentioned at every single public appearance he made. A truly shocking turn of events! /s
