It all depends on the implementation. I’m very familiar with BMW’s level 2 automation and it has IR sensors and driver-facing cameras to enforce “eyes on the road”. Your hands also need to be on the wheel (in most cases). Failure to comply will literally cause the vehicle to put on its hazards, pull over, and stop.
Tesla seems to have a much more … relaxed implementation.

“We’re in Space X and quietly do whatever we want.”
It’s super disturbing to see this young child saying these things without any real understanding of them.

I had one of those back in the eighties.
The mileage was shit, the trim lasted all of a month, the seat covers were some sort of plastic nightmare, just an all-round terrible investment. 0-60 in “can’t be arsed”.
Would not recommend.
