“Don’t pick me up at school today Dad, I’ll just take the bus.”
Girl Dad? As opposed to Boy Dad? What does that even mean?
I think it means… He loves his DAUGHTER/property and will shoot any young man who comes sniffing around if he’s not up to snuff… you know, normal daddy behavior!
@womanhood_deferred - that’s not too bad, actually… although, it seems like it’s just being a good parent?
Honestly most of the men I know with daughters do not gaf about them.
“She’s cute but…”
“She’s more her mother’s thing…”
“Ugh she’s gonna be a cheerleader or something stupid eyeroll”
“I dunno I think she’s four now?”
“My wife wanted kids so the deal is she takes care of it all…”
These are all quotes from men under forty with daughters.
I do understand that being a parent means the occasional vent and may be harder for men to talk about but…yeah.
I’d say yeah a movement to remind men you can have a relationship that isn’t sexual with your female offspring and it can be meaningful is sadly warranted.
These are the good fathers too because they’re there and have no arrest records for abusing anyone.
I struggle to think of one man I have heard speak with pride about his daughter. I literally can only recall one in the last two decades of my life. And oddly enough he was proud of how well she was coping with her mother’s death.
As a result I feel conflicted about that image and the text. The context is sad. I see someone who means well and didn’t see the writing on the wall for himself or his daughter.
Holy shit, that is awful!! I and my brothers are all fathers of daughters who are very involved in their lives. Those statements just jar my nerves!
Yeah, totally agree. We shouldn’t need it, but here we are.
My hubby was always involved and attentive…
Agreed…
Oh I just mean in my personal life. Not much has really changed I think from my parents and their friends when I was a daughter. i like to think for instance that if we had a daughter my husband would take a real interest in her and care to relate to her.
I think what bothers me the most is just that I know these guys can/could do better too but it’s almost more socially acceptable to diss your daughter or completely avoid her than to, like, be excited about something she’s doing or learning.
We’ve never met, but my daughter is my pride and joy. I am thrilled with all her accomplishments, and fully support her activities. We just spent a day in DC on a spring break day that she fully planned, and I was both proud and impressed with her planning and decisions. I am fully there for her.
Same, on all counts.

Is it down to $200K off yet? Then I’d think about it.
Would you? I’d never want to own something so ugly and poorly made, not to mention so justly stigmatized.
My dad. He came to see every play I was in, every band concert, lots of high school and college football games and parades (marching band). He used to take me to lunch with his buddies, and he’d brag on my good grades.
I really miss him.
Think of what a great of a Halloween decoration it could make for your yard.
Think about the math. Free $100K, sell it for scrap.
It’s radioactively illegal to drive on UK roads without significant mods so i couldn’t even if i wanted to (i don’t).
There’s some discussion in the comments about whether the “he” in question is Trump or Bessent.
If it truly is Trump… one, holy shit, and two, please let this be the start of a rift that leads to them warring against each other while the whole corrupt cabal goes down in flames…
I don’t understand why there isn’t any real attempt to get these two goblins to turn on each other. It really feels like asking “which of you is the looks and which the brains” at the right moment could do it.
