In other words, the Cybertruck depreciated by over $5.6 for every mile the owners drove the all-electric truck.
This level of depreciation would frustrate most people; however, Vin appears happy with the trade-in value he received from Tesla

The secret is to start with a really low offer, and in this case Tesla had started with $0.

"We drove it around Santa Barbara for 80 minutes and there were seven failures,” said O’Dowd, whose company Green Hills Software supplies security tech to defense and aerospace industry customers. “If there had not been a driver sitting in the driver’s seat, it would’ve hit something.”

Any city allowing them to use their citizens as lab rats should be liable for damages.

I didn’t know this was a thing. I looked up Volvo Electric Trucks, and this appeared. In eastern Australia, you’ll see a Linfox truck on any drive between cities. They know logistics, and they seem impressed with Volvo.

A Chinese-owned company, no less.

All the actual truck makers have had electric semis in their lineup for years and years. Scania, MAN, Renault, Mercedes, Iveco… Not to mention the specialised companies that make light trucks, like Designwerk and Emoss.

They’re just not bothered with stupid publicity stuff, because they only care what people in the industry think.

Nope, not the trucks.
Volvo Cars was sold off to Ford in 1999 and Ford sold Volvo Cars (at a loss) to Geely Holding (Chinese investment conglomerate) in 2010.
Everything else is still Aktiebolaget Volvo.
The name “Volvo” belongs to Volvo Trademark Holding AB, which in turn is equally owned by AB Volvo and Volvo Car Corporation.

Volvo also owns Renault Trucks and Mack Trucks.
They own part of VE Commercial Vehicles (India) and Dongfeng Truck (China).
Then there is Volvo Buses, Volvo Penta (marine diesels etc.) and Volvo Construction Equipment.

Yes, until fairly recently I worked on the fringes of that industry. Electric trucks have been a thing for quite a while now and I do not recall the name Tesla coming up even once.

Freightliner has also been doing pretty well with their electric semis:
