Maybe? There’s been reporting for months that Musk thinks that eliminating EV subsidies would hurt Tesla’s rivals more than it would hurt Tesla so hurting his competition and encouraging them to leave the EV market may be a priority for him. And a number of Tesla models don’t currently qualify for the Federal tax credit anyway.

Similarly, now that SpaceX is pretty well-established and got all that Federal money to help fund the earlier development of Falcon 9 rockets, I’m guessing they’d also be happy to pull up the ladder behind them and see Federal funding for developing new rockets eliminated so that they can maintain a near monopoly.
