Elon Musk, on the other hand, is an asshat.
On the one hand he’s a misogynist dick, but on the other, I could see being suspicious that anyone who hangs around with those men must be after something other than their company. We’re talking about guys who invited Elon Musk to their party for heaven’s sake. If they claim women never actually want to date them I might have to believe them.

The Autopian has a similar story today, but one thing that kinda shocked me was their mention that the new Model Y retails for £60,000 in the U.K. Is that really true, or is it a typo? That’s $81,000! In the U.S. it starts in the mid 40s.
If the Brits are really paying that much it’s no wonder that sales are hurting, with or without the connection to Musk.
But anyways, I’m sure that his huge new compensation package will inspire him to turn the company’s financial situation around any day now…

US firms typically sell their goods at a higher price abroad (even allowing for taxes etc.).
This is inaccurate. I just pulled up the UK configurator, and prices for the “base burger” spec Model Y start at around £45,000 (RWD only, Blah Gray default color, ugly 19" wheels with aero hubcaps, no other options). The only way I could get it close to £60,000 was to enable every option (AWD long range, FSD, 20" wheels, and a premium paint color) which brought it up to around £63,500. These prices are actually a little cheaper than in the US (not including federal tax credits).
One caveat I’ve heard is that while Tesla does offer a lower cost “base burger” spec for all of their vehicles, they have a reputation for making them very difficult if not impossible to actually order or obtain.
