With assholes in the GOP squawking about withholding disaster relief aid to CA (a DONOR STATE for fuck’s sake!) and blunting Newsom as much as possible now in case he makes a run for the Oval Office and painting CA negatively (“Dogpile on the blue state!”), Newsom responding to Elmo makes sense.

The SEC lawsuit comes shortly before chairman Gary Gensler’s planned resignation from the commission. It’s not clear if the new administration will continue the suit.
