To avoid bogus charges, I always take pictures of rentals (inside and out) during pickup and return. This scanning sounds like some next-level bs. I hope this practice doesn’t spread to consume the entire industry!

Sadly, it probably will…

I wonder if you can request a full scan before you take the vehicle off the lot? I’m guessing “No”, because that would make it much easier to support a “pre-existing damage” defense.

They probably think that sexual and psychological harassment makes working at Ubisoft more fun.

PVR is even somewhat user friendly.

I will have to look into that. Unfortunately it only works on desktop computers.

Well it might work on phone:

I’m on an Android phone. Even with a working VPN, the BBC Sounds app wouldn’t open. I think the app is linked to the official Google app store of your country.

Solution. Here’s what worked for me.

  1. Delete installed app.

  2. Connect to internet via UK VPN.

  3. Download BBC Sounds app from a 3rd-party app store like Aptoide.

  4. Go through regular BBC log in process, and bingo. BBC Sounds is back!

This getting really complicated.

I’ll check out France Inter and see what they have to offer.

“BBC” now officially stands for Brexit Broadcasting Corporation.

I thought it was Brixton Broadcasting Corporation.

My plan now is just to use an old phone as MP3-player. Back to the past…

I have an entry in my password vault for Ubisoft. It says “Never give these people another dime ever again.” I think that says it all, really.

Last time i spent money on Ubisoft i think it was either Spore or the Prince of Persia cel shaded game. Looking online both of those came out in 2008, but i can say with certainty that the shitshow that was Spore left enough of a bad impression with me that i’ve avoided buying their titles since.

Did they ever actually say monitization would make the experience more fun for the player?

I did enjoy this particular part of a quote from Ubisoft:

At Ubisoft, the golden rule when developing premium games is to allow players to enjoy the game in full without having to spend more. Our monetization offer within premium games makes the player experience more fun by allowing them to personalize their avatars or progress more quickly, however this is always optional.

Apparently, “enjoy[ing] the game in full” doesn’t mean having the most fun - that costs extra. Yeesh.

I still cannot believe the BBC cut themselves off from the rest of the world.

“Through the Night” and “Composer of the Week” were big parts of my life. They frequently pulled me out of my various comfort zones and taught me new things.
