“This is the cycle we find ourselves in. First law of Trumpodynamics: Every action is met with a very not equal overreaction,” Stewart said Monday on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” after playing clips of top Democrats criticizing Trump’s decision last week to fire independent inspectors general.
The “overreaction,” Stewart said, is “throwing off our ability to know when s‑‑‑ is actually getting real.”
That’s easy, Jon. All of the shit is real. It’s all real shit. The real shit is all happening, and you’re pretending that some of the real shit that they’re doing isn’t real if they get pushback on it.
It doesn’t matter how much you refuse to believe that it’s real, that won’t make it not real. And your world-weary “oh both sides suck I’m so cynical” schtick isn’t helping.
Only certain people get freeze peaches.
Jon - at this point- there is no possible overreaction to what’s happening.
It’s going down right now. Right in front of your face. Look at it; not the reaction to it. Which one is an immanent threat?
Stop imitating Bill Maher.
But it’s true! Not everything Trump has done is fascist. I mean, he’s (probably) slept, played some golf, eaten some hamberders. /s
JFC, has he not paid any attention at all?
It must be time for another “Rally to Restore Sanity”
I’m fairly certain he sleeps and eats fascistly. He also cheats at golf which is kinda fascist too.
Amen, preach it louder!!
That’s not entirely true.
He’s also being sexist and ableist.
When some reporter (increasingly bravely, given the climate) pushes back even a little and asks “what is your evidence that ‘DEI’ caused this?”, all he needs is the presence in the cockpits or control tower of one black person, or one woman, or one person with any health condition. Just one. No matter how irrelevant their presence was.
(ETA: I posted just as Millie_Fink posted the extension. I owe Ms Luther and Millie some beverages.)
To be fair, he is also being disgustingly ableist at the same time. His comments about the FAA were straight up Aktion T4.
Me, too.
