My understanding is that she doesn’t even have jurisdiction… so can/will people just ignore her, or does some legal process have to happen to point out that she doesn’t have jurisdiction, which won’t get resolved until after Trump takes office, at which point the rules won’t mean anything?

Honestly I’m kind of surprised the pizzagate gunman survived this long. I rather assumed he was either dead or institutionalized. A heavily armed guy who buys into, and violently acts on, insane anti-government conspiracy theories has a lot of opportunities to come into conflict with law enforcement. Interactions with police while armed and suffering from poor decision-making (especially when the cops know this ahead of time) tend to have poor survivability.

I don’t know… There was at least a 50/50 chance he’d end up in law enforcement and/or politics.

Actually sovereign citizens etc. get away with alot of stuff that would get other shades of humanity shot…

They also tend to shoot cops… And bullies are usually cowards.

I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!

Um… so… I’ve noticed that Wil Wheaton has not posted on his tumblr in like… 3 days now? Does anyone follow him on bluesky? Have they had to evacuate due to the fires? I know they live in LA, but am not sure if they are near to where this is happening?

If he hasn’t been forced to evacuate, he may be busy helping others who have. He seems like the kind of person who would be part of a community effort to help.

I’m surprised they haven’t blamed Disney yet.

I’m sure that it’s really Mel Gibson’s fault.

He’s been posting on Bluesky

Indeed! I hope that’s the case and his family is safe.

@sqlrob - has he said anything about the fire? @KathyPartdeux (I think) posted that Denise Crosby lost her house… I wonder if any other Trek actors have been impacted? He might know.

He hasn’t said much, just he’s upset over the misinfo being spread by TFG.

I did see Kate Mulgrew posting her son lost his house.

Oh no! That’s awful! :sob: so many people are suffering and the incoming administration is just going to fuck them over with regards to funding for rebuilding efforts…
