(Is it a horrific thing? yes. There are more humane and reliable ways of administering the death penalty than delivering a dose of lead at terminal velocity. Personally, I’d rather see restorative justice as a means of correction, but that requires understanding of the perpetrator, and a willingness to repent (for lack of a better word) or to correct what they’ve done. And for some people who won’t recognize that, or willingly did their crimes… it just won’t work, and making them assume room temperature is the only solution.)
