Well in Moygashel they’ve anti immigrant signs and a full “small boat” (the BBC news obsession) full of people on top of it for burning tomorrow. Some people find this concerning. Some people find it to be a source of social cohesion. Because nothing brings some of the community together like racism.

She’s flat out wrong about something. She says catholics, and now immigrants flee Norn in bonfire season. In fact if you were to pop into Dublin Zoo over the next few days, for example, you will find it chock full of Northern Protestants with young children also getting the fuck out of there while drunken bigots burn and riot.
Moygashel is a place I know fairly well. My wife used to work in the chicken factory there but immigrants do it now. Poor immigrants. Horrible place. No wonder the locals don’t want to work there. They just haven’t found anything to replace it.
They didn’t seem to have a plan up north for what happens when you get what you want: IRA disbanded, Ireland ceasing teritorial claim over the North. In the old days it was a big deal for catholics to take her majesty’s free education and use it elsewhere. Ulster loyalists never had that and now university education isn’t free and services are collapsing and their ideological purity means they are taking an absolute kicking from Brexit (whereas I believe a little ducking and diving and they could have made a killing…)
