And in the last couple years, we’ve seen commenters that we thought we’re pretty OK turn to pretty much shit. It seems prudent to be cautious in the age we’re stuck living in.
Agreed, absolutely. I don’t want any trolls in the Cafe either. Nor do I know anybody at AVClub (or other Gizmodo/Kinja sites) well enough to invite here… except the ones I already know from here and TOP, like Melz, Modus, and a few others.
I like the idea of inviting people in, but caution is always wise.

While the story is worth posting on its own, I just had to post it because of the following spelling correction in the comments:

One irony I noticed earlier today: the people who tend to stockpile guns in case the government decides to implement martial law are generally the same people who support pouring money into their military to the point where their resistance to martial law would be ineffective if it ever actually happened.
