Gun Control

The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a knife is…

Holy shit, there are a whole ton of ways to stop a bad guy with a knife, aren’t there?

This article gets to a thought I’ve had, which is that the mass shooting is a feature and not a bug of this white male rage that is being stirred online. The outrage of the general public is what is fueling the fantasy: LOOK AT ME!!!

Can’t like because, you know.

Also, I don’t know much about guns, but I thought the bit with the holes in it at the front was one of the parts it was a bad idea to touch while in use?

The barrel shroud makes it safe to touch… (or so they tell me)

I hate it when 2nd amendment types try to use concepts found in first amendment law to justify their arms.

from this sort of thing

. It has an unmistakeable tendency to chill that free play of the spirit which all teachers ought especially to cultivate and practice; it makes for caution and timidity in their associations by potential teachers.

to this:

“The existing background check law has a tremendous chilling effect on the exercise of Second Amendment rights. Most of the people denied the right to buy a gun are false positives. That is, they are falsely denied. It is a travesty of justice that tens of thousands of people are denied their rights by this system”

Takes away the need for background checks, but this can still be a grizzly buisness.

What an idiotic poster. Let’s compare apples to iPods already.

The only hole you really need to worry about it the one at the very front of the barrel. And I suppose the one at the back where the shell is ejected.

The barrel shroud is there so you don’t grab the barrel that will get surprisingly warm forcing a projectile from one end to the other at a high rate of speed.

All that said, that is a stupid way to hold the rifle.

Elbow should be locked in to your torso for a more secure firing position. No way you’ll keep a tight grouping firing like that.

Guns rights advocates, they are like the Rosa Parks for the 2nd Amendment!

It’s bad enough they’re misreading the 2nd Amendment (IMO) but to compare their supposed plight to brave attempts to reverse gross violations of basic human rights? I think not!

Some things, like fire extinguishers, would be even more effective against knives than against guns!

Spit wads! A flurry of spit wads would confuse the mass murderer by gun out-of-control guy.

Like most people are going to be real creative when they’re scared out of their wits.

Christ, what etc.

Jibbers Crabst. He expects kids to stop shootings.

In thinking about commenting, as an example I looked up the shooting at Fort Hood, which is not primarily populated by children, and learned that there have been two.

If military service members can’t do whatever magic bullshit he’s imagining, children sure as fuck can’t. Holy victim-blaming, badman.

also, just a little ways off post was the scene of the Luby’s Massacre

I remember reporting for duty to Fort Hood and hearing about the drive by shooting ON POST the night before.

Lovely, lovely piece of Texas there.

Ok so we reject fire extinguishers how about grabbing as many pencils pieces of paper and the elastic in underware and making a crossbow?

White people need to stop using Rosa Parks as a comparison.

The mutant zombie bill now has the heart of SB 33 and the brain of HB 1424.
SB 33 […] would allow individuals who can legally possess a firearm to carry a gun onto school property [or] a church
HB 1424 would allow Hoosiers to obtain a state gun permit that is free and that lasts a lifetime.
