Thought about going to the Home Depot today & said screw that. If people have to work on a holiday; it can at least be an easy day for them. Most things don’t need to be open on holidays - people deserve them off.
Pharmacies etc obviously excluded.

Our pharmacy was closed for the 4th. I got what I needed yesterday. I think the store part may or may not be open, some hours or other, but I’m not sure. I wasn’t gonna bother them anyway.
They’ve had a really tough time hiring so sometimes there’s a sign in the door saying sorry it’s closed, and other times it’s just randomly closed and locked without any note.
When it is open, it’s often some mix of new people and people called in from other stores. Sometimes there’s no one near the registers and you just have to stand there and wait for an employee to wander by. And that employee may or may not know how to run the register or have authorization to do so. And may or may not know how to use the mic to call the manager.
Not their fault though. And I’m never in any rush. But I’m not gonna go in there on a holiday and make it worse on 'em.
