Even if there’s a large supply, it seems to me Revivicor is not going to let them go cheap. Unless I’ve missed something.
No doubt this is correct, but the point holds.
I can’t believe I said the same thing twice.
No, unfortunately I can.
Yay, something else in that’s out to kill you, this time in a really repulsive way…
Infamous paper that popularized unproven COVID-19 treatment finally retracted
Study on hydroxychloroquine by Didier Raoult and colleagues gets pulled on ethical and scientific grounds
This was not the experience that either my wife or I had when we went through cancer treatment, but I guess we didn’t exactly qualify as “young.”
It sounds excruciatingly horrible at an excruciatingly horrible time.
That was an interesting read.
I had the inverse happen with me. A younger friend/peer in my credential program was married and her husband developed melanoma at 27. She and I stayed in touch during his treatments. When she told me he was back in the hospital and it didn’t look good, I stopped by to see her at the hospital where another friend kept me from seeing her. Totally understandable; I thought that she was overwhelmed and probably needed space, so I left a message with her friend. When her husband died a few days later, I tried reaching out but she didn’t return calls or texts.
I knew someone who knew her husband’s sister and the SIL said she ghosted his family, too (no kids). SIL relayed to me that she moved up north and took a teaching job in the Bay Area. I know that she was pissed that the school district they both worked for didn’t cover some cutting edge treatment for her husband. I think she needed to get away for her own mental health.
People respond to pain in different ways, so I didn’t take it personally but I am sad that we lost touch with each other.

Not one boxing: 1st severe case of H5N1 bird flu in human (Louisiana) and California declares state of emergency due to the increasing numbers of human infections, mild so far.
Something else to blame Columbus for.
News about bird flu really does put a different spin on some holiday tunes…
…as well as holiday meals:

While the Philippines recently reduced the age of testing for HIV without parental consent from 18 to 15, there’s still a law prohibiting children under 18 from purchasing or even being given free contraceptives including condoms, which can prevent transmission of HIV. As a result, Norella says, many adolescents must get condoms informally through a relative or older friend.
I fully expect these kind of stupid “ignore it and it will go away” laws and attitudes to multiply here as MAGAt influence takes hold in public health. God, it makes me tired…
“Many experts in the field had anticipated that drug use would resurge as the pandemic receded and social distancing restrictions were lifted,” Richard Miech, team lead of the Monitoring the Future survey at the University of Michigan, said in a statement. “As it turns out, the declines have not only lasted but have dropped further.”
Well, this is a good thing!
I’m sure this is another agency on the chopping block so that the myth of “rampant drug use among our youth” can be cited as justification for horrendous law enforcement actions to come.
I will not have to worry about having enough work, I guess…
The shift has disheartened and shaken staff. “I mean, do they want to dismantle public health?” one employee at the health department told NPR.
Ummm, yes. Yes they do. And are starting off with a bang.
Well, at least until practising medicine or receiving medical treatment is outlawed.
