Injustice Systems

I hit something that was probably a tendon four bites in and never went back.

Some good news in my view: the Vermont State Supreme court takes a bite out of Heien. Heien was the 2014 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that (roughly) said police canā€™t be held responsible for their mistaken interpretation of law when justifying a traffic stop.

This article says Cadillac dealers had a policy refusing to sell Cadillacs to black people. Showing once again, you canā€™t tell the story of the present without knowing how we got here.

Christ, what a shitload of assholes. I have absolutely no doubt that the problem stems from the top, i.e., is systemic, and that the work environment has become self-selecting.

But itā€™s A-OK to help our known enemies (the Russians) break down our entire system of government.

Stop the world, I want to get off.

I suppose that would only be true in states that still have the death penalty?

ā€œPrivileged. I donā€™t mean privileged like Iā€™m better than anybody. I just mean privileged like Iā€™ve had everything just put there in front of me.ā€

Yes, Joe, that is the fucking definition of ā€œprivilegedā€, and the point is to recognise that most people donā€™t get those breaks, some get even less than most, so we work to ensure that changes, or at the very least, not use ourselves as the fucking baseline.

Clueless is right.

ETA: FFS. That poor, whiny baby.

Sometimes I wish VR were better, so we could stick people like him who claim to want to understand in a multi-day simulation of what your average POC goes through. I do not want to see role reversal, I want them to associate the feeling of being attacked and opressed with the kind of faces who do that.

Another part of me knows that would do no good.

He almost got to an introspective moment over the Ford stuff before his self-regard blotted it out. Maybe the response to the article will do it.

Iā€™m not hoping, though.
