I seriously love his accordion riff throughout the song.
Accordions are underrated.
And cowbells. More cowbell!
A little something for the spooky season…
I hear the radio is finally gonna play new music!
Extended seasonal playlist on the Jukebox!
For Halloween, I give you:
I think this is possibly Glen Miller’s greatest recording. I can’t remember who was the arranger, but it is an amazing bit of work.
Tex Beneke, by the way, was the orchestra’s lead baritone saxophonist. Although not a singer, he was frequently tasked with whistling and singing the non-romantic songs like this one. Some of his songs employ a bit of banter with Miller himself, like a type of proto-rap.
It don’t get cooler than this.
Something more recent… I love me some Sampha.
To everything there is a season…
Here’s another song I haven’t thought about in a very long time. And tonight I heard it in a diner.
No I do not get out much. I just learned Fleetwood Mac recorded this before it became a big hit for someone else.
RIP Gomer!
You mean this Fleetwood Mac?
You mean this?
A great song by Patty Griffin about legacies:
Tied in with a few conversations I’ve had recently.
There’s a time to fuck and a time to crave…
