I did not notice the hat. I did not give it my fullest attention. 
It’s just, so nice to see someone who probably had never heard such music, let alone heard it live, and he wasn’t letting his age or WASP culture get in the way of truly enjoying it. That’s a huge win to me. Our world is better every time something like that happens.
