I hear you, but this is just how this process works. Shit is moving really fast right now, and our judicial system is not designed to deal with that, unfortunately. When an appeal to a TRO is made, a stay is basically automatic. I don’t think they had the option to not issue the stay.
Let’s put it this way: if the situation was reversed, they wouldn’t have issued the stay. That’s happened again and again.
Courts have been doing a pretty good job against T****’s authoritarian bullshit, and you’re right that they aren’t really built for it and doing their best. But they do have discretion and too often aren’t using it.
I think it would be the same, actually. This really honestly is just the process. If a TRO is issued by a district court, and the restrained party appeals, the TRO is stayed until the appeals court hears arguments.
I hear that this is just how the system works, I really do. It still sucks. But I do understand.
Oh no, did Soros retire or run out of money from paying all the protesters, buying signs and pallets of bricks?

Holy crap, there are a crap ton of people, all the side streets in about a mile radius are parked up.
It’s a pleasant crowd though.
I’m on a mission to get my 200 bucks but so far I haven’t found the guy paying everyone.
There are speakers but my gernaphobia is kicking in so I’m not wading too far into the crowd.
Likewise, I was amazed at the turnout! We were 6 deep on one side of the road and 2-3 deep on the other, at least 200 meters long.
People were very kind and a lot of support from the passing cars. Some great signs and chants!
