Love, love, love Cynar!
But, back to licorice…
Ouzo rocks!
Really! You’re the only person I know who has said that. But then, I know of only 3 people who’ve tried it: you, me, and the person who had the bottle that I sipped a bit from (ehrgg).
I need to find some place that serves it. I’m adventuresome when it comes to trying new spirits, but Ouzo is not one I ever see in the 250ml bottles behind the counter.
Doooo eeeeet!!!
I’d swear I’ve had Ouzo before, but strangely, I can’t recall any specific incidence of actually drinking it. That being said, I feel like if you’re going to drink Ouzo, you might as well go all in and have some absinthe while you’re at it.
i love Ouzo and absinthe, naturally. i finally got around to trying fernet branca the other evening, and that is quite an interesting addition to a cocktail, let me tell you. Cynar is still on my list of things to get and try.
Any nice Greek restaurants around your way? Good bars usually have it but I find it may be off to the side with the less-ordered stuff like Pernod.
I remember watching this at the time and it was a good idea poorly executed. Mind you, I could never take Sylvester McCoy seriously as The Doctor because I’d only seen him do minor, bumbling comedy parts.
Ace was ace, though.
I noticed the Ouzo selection whilst in Binny’s last night.
Out of the three bottle options, I grabbed the one for $20.
Well, I wouldn’t drink it every day, but that definitely falls into “Yeah, I’ll drink that again” category.
Did you add some ice? It brings out a really cool chemical reaction: the drink turns cloudy.
Oh Canada, home of the weirdest icecream.
Not made with real tigers. Just so we’re clear.
edit: Possibly not with real licorice either, at least in the PC version. I had never actually heard of this, despite it apparently being a Canadian classic. Google tells me Kawartha Dairy makes this flavour too, which is the one I’d like to try. Sort of a frozen licorice allsort.
This was my sister’s fave growing up. I didn’t mind it despite hating real licorice, though, so I’d agree - not very much real licorice in there.
