I bet that’s how he kept it under wraps for so long. Be kind and magnanimous to the other actors so that the ones he abuses aren’t believed or perceive they won’t be.

That’s what I’m thinking, too.

Sounds like Buffy stands with Cordielia… I have no appropriate Buffy gifs, tho…

At the hearing, if the man can prove that he is the biological father and that there is a “reasonable probability” that the woman would obtain an abortion, the court shall issue an injunction prohibiting her from terminating the pregnancy. Proof of parenthood requires only that the petitioner acknowledges paternity. A DNA test is not required.

If the woman violates the injunction by obtaining an abortion, the court may hold her in civil or criminal contempt. There are no exceptions for rape or incest.

A window into the considerations women make for safety (thread):

I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t even want to start dating once the pandemic is under control and as many folks as possible are vaccinated. I’ve trusted too many men that have been sociopaths/narcissists/assholes who were award-worthy actors. And that’s another consideration: Will there be people who lie about being vaccinated on purpose, for whatever irrational reason?

An FYI for anyone who is interested:

If the man really was a good person just trying to keep the woman safe, he could have offered (or she could have asked) for him to drive alongside her while she walked to her car. And if that suggestion offended him, well then, she was right to be cautious.

I’d like to date again at some point, but honestly, my radar isn’t the best either. I’ve no doubt good guys are out there, but so is a lot of drama, and I’ve barely got enough energy for my own drama these days. So I’m better off on my own, for now.

Women-in-general may’ve come a long way, but men-in-general seem to’ve regressed.

The female MPs should make their eyes up in an outrageous style but wear sunglasses until everyone is seated.

That was the deciding factor in turning a Young Republican I knew into a Progressive: when she got pregnant and her company told her that she could have a few weeks off but within 6 months had to be back at even higher numbers than she was before, and her husband got patted on the back (literally) at his company, offered a promotion, and told that he was now going to get a mentor to help him move up more quickly.

I just saw the preview for that, and it looks really interesting; I’ll be watching once it comes out.

I wonder if an incident similar to this happened IRL during that time? From “More American Graffiti”; not the greatest movie (sequels usually aren’t), but this scene is great:

I’d do the same thing.
