Six people were NOT killed in Indiana by a mass shooter. Five people were killed, and one of those 5 was pregnant at the time. The coverage was actually better in the Guardian, although they used the terminology that was given to them (“unborn child”).
Another detail from the Guardian that wasn’t covered here: the bodies were found way too late to save anyone. But they transported one body to the closest hospital anyway. Guess which body? Which means they really don’t understand how pregnancy works.

I wish I could find the TV show she did in the 1950s.
And then there’s this…sigh…how perceived roles affect the use of available technology
But of course, part of me adores gossip, lol, as well as pop-culture history. What can I say?
Damn; high praise, coming from Lynda Carter!
WW and Xena. Now there’s a crossover for the ages. Fuck Around and Find Out could be their forever motto.
And I have enjoyed Lawless dismantling Sorbo.
LL was tapped for WW, but wouldn’t do it unless they gave WW a character flaw. So they uh, didn’t do it.
I wonder, now will a good bioflick about Janis Joplin be made? Because her sister doesn’t want so much junkieness involved, which is soooooo mid-20th century, COME ON NOW. The fans love JJ as much for her faults as for her talent. Hell, her talent was her vent - singing - for her faults, maybe?
As Beau would say, LOL - just something to think about.
It’s been beautiful to see.
AGAIN:
Some good points there. The trailer is enough for me want to see it, but I’d definitely be looking at it more critically.
I can’t read this because it pisses me off so much that mainstream white feminists ain’t learned SHIT.
BUT - it’s one more reason to love having Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.
The fact that it’s on HBO makes it easier for me to take a pass on this one (although I’m aware there are… alternatives… if I get curious enough.)
I was a huge fan of Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dr. Horrible, and I’ll always appreciate them as works that were the sum of many talents, not just Joss. (Maybe that’s cognitive dissonance talking, but it works for me.) After finding out about Whedon’s dark side, I’m just not all that interested in new projects from him. Nobody’s perfect, but there’s too much baggage there for me to comfortably ignore.
One of my miscarriages was after I’d been getting regular prenatal care for months at an alternative birthing center (not a hospital, not an abortion clinic, it was only about birthing babies) and they had me come in to get the medical treatment necessary to make sure that I didn’t either die or develop so much permanent damage that I could never carry another child. In other words, they gave me what is considered to be an abortion, because without it I would never have been able to become a mother (or, possibly, even a month older). That’s how basic this medical care is.
But that was in the Chicago area, and long enough ago that the current wave of regulations against pregnant women hadn’t yet hit:
Kinda goes without saying; it takes money and resources to raise a child well.
Poor Charisma! She really shined on Angel and the way she got written out/treated kind of sucked.
I do wonder if others will come forward now from the Buffy/Angel days? I also wonder if the trouble that Nicholas Brendon got into in recent years has anything to do with dealing with similar treatment on set from Whedon.
I bet he was the sort who played individuals against one another on set, like he’d treat Geller better than Carpenter, etc?
