Feel free to break-out your “Why is there Air?” album.
I’ve got “Wonderfulness” and “A Very Funny Fellow” and “It’s True! It’s True” (which has the Spanish Fly bit on it!), and maybe one or two others.
You can’t sell those things.
However, he ain’t got much life left in him, and I’m sure he wouldn’t be able to leave the house much even if there wasn’t a pandemic going on. It’s tragic that so much good was done by him to hide his evil; I can’t believe now that he did all of his philanthropy out of the goodness of his heart.
And has anyone else read/heard the rumor that he had his son killed 'cos he was gonna bust on him?
I heard why it got overturned. It does make sense but I wish he would rot in jail for the rest of his life. I hope another woman goes after him.
It kills me that Phylicia Rashad puts loyalty to him over being a woman.
Or being a law-abiding member of our society.
That’s a part of womanhood, isn’t it?
And his wife…don’t get me started. Even my DAD liked him, especially the chocolate-cake story.
Were I to speak to him, I’d ask, “What if one of your daughters was drugged and raped, hm?”
ADDENDUM: Where’s the in-depth bio-book of him? I wanna find out how he got the way he did.
The last line of this is what Mr. Cosby should hear while awaits to meet the Grim Reaper. And I wonder if Mr. Tartikoff knew what was going on?
>sigh< A woman tells a story of a customer service experience where a male caller explodes in anger after being told “no.” So, of course, angry men show up in the comments to “not all men” and accuse her of prejudice… proving her point. She calls them out in later posts in the thread:
Wow. From last December. (see also my entry in the Olds Go Nostalgic… thread)
I want to control the means of production as well as the purse strings!
I can’t wait for Part 2!
I have lost count of how many times I’ve gone into a mechanic’s place and gotten a loooong estimate full of expensive repairs, getting told, “you gotta believe me, you really need these done!”
That’s my cue to a) call my former-mechanic uncle with questions and b) say, “I need to do something first,” grab my keys back, and go for a second opinion… where I find out most of that estimate was completely unnecessary (and often unrelated to the actual problem.)
It’s hard to find a decent mechanic that won’t try to screw you over, and if they retire or move out of the area, it’s back to square one. And a previously reliable shop might wind up getting a new hire who pulls that nonsense. The first time they try it is the last time; I walk out and never go back.
(And of course, as usual in topics like this, there are many, many women sharing similar experiences and frustrations… and quite a few men flat-out a) denying it happens, b) blaming women for not knowing how to fix their own cars, and c) mansplaining/telling women how they should deal with this. My block button got a workout tonight.)
