That design is interesting. It looks like three fish.
you might be able to use oven cleaner on it (like Easy-Off), too.
I have the powder. weirdly, between when I posted and now, I used it to scrub my toilet.
seems like itâd scratch the chrome or whatever, though?
@kxkvi it is nice, but not sure how they came up with it. the make is Toastmaster.
I wouldnât be surprised â I donât know how youâd figure it out though. Those rust spots make me wonder â has the chrome rusted through? Though I guess chrome isnât supposed to rust, but . . . .
I ended up getting the crud off with acetone first
then used the old trick Iâd heard on bike forums for getting rust off chrome: vinegar (or Coke) and a ball of aluminum foil. thereâs still little rust spots that wouldnât come off, and very fine circular marks from the scrubbing. I can always use Brasso or something later. but it looks presentable now, at least.
Nice!
Now donât just go trying to fix it. Youâll end up with a time machine.
I adore you for posting that.
Barkeeperâs Friend isnât Comet or Ajax; itâs much gentler.
I even use it to get the silver marks (from stainless steel silverware) off of porcelain.
But try the soft cream instead, just to be safe.
Which of the three do you use for porcelain? We have plates that are marked up like that.
Futurama?
Close. Simpsons, one of the Halloween specials (Treehouse of Horrors). One of our favorite segments.
The powderâŚreally! Add the barest bit of water and scrub with a cloth or sponge.
Re-Neducation.
James Earl Jones.
The best: Grandpaâs advice, and the event that immediately follows it. I think we have this on VHS.
The cabin we stayed at in the early summers, starting from before I was born till 1974. Built by the man who ran Bass Cove Cabins, which included two more cabins; he also built his own house there. In Central Lake, MI, in Antrim County. These were taken in 1973âŚI think.
A little something for those from the land of Y Ddraig Goch.

Twenty years is the limit, so yup.
