Whose version? Leonard Cohen wrote the song, but there have been so many excellent covers, including Wainwright’s.
sorry - but at least i knew what i meant, lol.
I thought Rufus Wainwright was very kind in how he expressed that.
Trump is a broken man. I’m not a doctor, but I know dementia when I see it, and he clearly has it.
He needs to be in a care home, not the White House, making important decisions being used as a front man for people even more scary that he is.
I know.
I remember seeing Trump in the grocery-store rags, but never on the front page of the Free Press or the News. And being a Midwestern person, to me it was just some guy in NYC, and you know NYC, always some guy grabbing headlines. Seriously, I didn’t even know he was in “Home Alone 2” much less who he was. But…
Why didn’t anyone NYC try to arrest his development at that time? Or didn’t anyone care to do so?
note: most midwesterners secretly wish they lived in NYC, but they’d deny it your face while swearing on their mother (or her grave, whichever’s handy).
Bankers conspired to not bail him out in 1988. They could see he was all risk with no benefit. He vowed revenge. That’s when he started marketing himself as a product.
War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength, etc.

Mitch McConnell Called Trump “Stupid,” a “Sleazeball,” and a “Despicable Human Being,” Then Endorsed Him for President
There are so many stories like this… everyone knows TFG is an absolute turd, unfit to run a lemonade stand. But most of the Republicans are like “…and that’s why he’s our guy!”
Of what are these people so afraid? I mean, sincerely??
I guess now as I get closer to “my Time”, I’m less afraid of people and events. Of course, the meds help a little bit, lol!
The rumor that Mitch got booted from the Army for being gay - not for his poor vision - seems more a fact now. And all the dirty business deals, or are those rumors too?
Not directly Trump, but for behavior normalized through him…
“The government cannot excuse its indirect censorship of political speech simply by declaring the disfavored speech is ‘false’,” US district judge Mark E Walker wrote in his ruling. “To keep it simple for the State of Florida: it’s the First Amendment, stupid.”
I love that.
Walters said in a statement posted to his account on X that he will “never back down to the woke mob.”
“The simple fact is that understanding how the Bible has impacted our nation, in its proper historical context, was the norm in America until the 1960s and its removal has coincided with a precipitous decline in American schools,” Walters wrote.
