The two NASA astronauts who were unexpectedly stranded on the space station for the last nine months have been picked up and are on the way back.

I’m imagining a conversation during the journey back:

Astronauts: So, what’s been going on these last nine months?

Rescue Crew: […]

Astronauts: TURN THIS THING AROUND RIGHT NOW.

Yup, when the GOP is in the majority, that’s what we get.

Majority Red, we’ll be broken and dead
Majority Blue, works to take care of you

I wish there was an easy way to convey the attraction that the danger in the first part of this cartoon holds for some people. It disappoints me that comedians on late night shows are still making Sleepy Joe references. Most of us would give a lot to return to the days of sane, boring, functional government that mostly works for the people - unseen, unrewarded, and sometimes treated like a joke. Now we’re dealing with a dramatic, chaotic, dysfunctional mess and the masses are finding out just what they lost/threw away.

I’m curious what is going on here.

No one deveins shrimps only to enjoy that ‘junk’ portion (digestive tract). Calls into question MAGA intelligence and propensity for accepting whatever their fearless leader tells them to swallow.

I was afraid to ask. Is this something normally done? :face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting:

Just speaking for myself, I’ve deveined shrimp since everyone in our family has done it, but – AFAIK – the vein is not harmful.

Whereas MAGA… I see.

In any case, I will leave all the shrimp to Forrest Gump.

(excerpt) In conclusion, the question of whether it is okay to eat shrimp with veins is a complex one. While some argue that the veins are harmless, others claim that they can pose health risks and affect the quality of the shrimp. To minimize the risks associated with eating shrimp with veins, consumers can take several precautions, including choosing deveined shrimp , cooking shrimp properly , and storing shrimp safely . By taking these precautions, consumers can enjoy shrimp while minimizing the risks associated with eating shrimp with veins.

we get fresh caught Key West pinks, in season. there is no “deveined” option if buying from the fisheries outlets.
that said, commercial fishery recreational-caught shrimps are left - alive - in a salt water tank to “purge” (poop), leaving the “vein” cleared of the muck that these glorious cockroaches of the sea dine upon and more palette (and sensibility) pleasing to the consumer.
