Political Cartoons

At least the next four years will be a gold mine for political cartoons. They won’t be able to keep up.

Only true so long as “L’Etat, c’est moi” doesn’t become fraught with severe legal consequences, which I am not sure we can be certain of. We know that Il Douche has very thin skin and reacts violently to anything poking fun or criticizing his assholery, so as long as the political cartoons keep coming, we’re probably OK. Canary in the coalmine sort of thing.

But wasn’t he always dressed like a naval officer?

More often a cop, though. I think.

Yes. I guess so. Doing a quick survey of album covers, he appears to be something different all the time, but mostly a cop.

Consider that on this album cover he looks like something Tom of Finland would draw, I’m just at a complete loss as to why people would have thought YMCA was a gay anthem for all these decades.

I like this bit:

Claiming YMCA and the entire VP catalog isn’t gay is some real “five lights” nonsense they’re trying to pull off. It seems a particularly bizarre form of gaslighting.

Seems appropriate for tomorrow (and the next 4 years… and beyond…)

This next one reminds me a bit of Ralph Steadman’s work.
