Babble is a lightweight, simple chat system deeply integrated with Discourse. It’s currently stable and updated to work with the latest version of Discourse. Feel free to give it a try!

It’s working great on mobile as well (and improving all the time! :D)

To install, use the standard method for installing plugins. Once installed, you may visit https:///admin/chats to add chat channels (NB that a chat will not appear on your site until you’ve created a chat in this interface)

Babble currently offers two different possible permissions for chat channels:

Groups (only members of the specified user group(s) may view and participate in the chat)
Categories (only users with access to the given category may view and participate in the chat)
