Other than that Shatner film! The whole goal was to write a global language that was easy to learn and would cut through all the cultural/linguistic divisions on earth. Turns out that didn’t help much. Very utopian, though…

And we just started watching Mr. Robot, and I believe that clip is show in the first episode…

I tried to learn Esperanto through Duolingo, but it didn’t take.

I’m currently working on Irish in duolingo… I’ve been doing it for about 250 days now. I do a lesson or 2 everyday. I also just got a book of short stories in Irish for beginners, but I have not started reading it yet.

The Irish consulate in ATL actually does Irish classes, too, so I might go take classes there as well one day in the future, so I can work on the talking part with others.

I think the trick is that you have to bring it into the real world… You lose any language skills you don’t use, so…

How strange.

I’ve never liked chimpanzees in movies or TV. For me it was a kind of an early uncanny valley, way before the term was invented.

I know, I remember hearing about J. Fred Muggs and that tv-spy-parody show that featured chimps when I was a kid, and thinking somehow it’s not right. I didn’t know exactly how it wasn’t right, but I knew it wasn’t.
