I hear the voice of Estes Perkle in that cacophony.
I’ve seen a movie which features him delivering the sermon this is from. It was surreal to finally hear it in its “proper” setting.
Here to defend The Warriors. It’s great. Also, Lin-Manuel Miranda is working on a musical version, because he gets it.
Fair enough!
It really is…
The Warriors is an amazing movie, as a film nerd i can also say that it’s shot really well. Script-wise its an adaptation of a novel, but that novel is an adaptation of the Greek story Anabasis

I dunno…
Yeah, and Scorsese’s Gangs of New York made the earlier, budding city look ultra violent too (even if he exaggerated that violence). Or was it the same era?
The movie’s based on the Five Points Gang and their rivals, so yeah. And Scorscese not exaggerating violence? Heaven forfend!
Back on topic!
Martin was depressed because in post-shoot baskeetball games, he never made a basket. But then he watched Hoosiers. Now Martin scores easy.
Happy 25th!
David McCallum’s then-wife met Bronson on the set of The Great Escape. Inexplicably (for aesthetic reasons alone, anyway), she soon left Mr McCallum for Bronson.
Always the gentleman
“It all worked out fine,” McCallum said in 2009, “because soon after that I got together with Katherine (Carpenter, a former model) and we’ve been very happily married for 42 years.”
“Teen heartthrob” ?! WTF?! Grown ass wimmens wanted him, too! and doubtless many people of every gender also found him luscious.
From the video.
OMG, that’s amazing!
My favorite science fair projects. (yes, I know that one isn’t real. Still love the can-do attitude!)
Aren’t they like Greek heroes or something?
