RIP. We'll miss you

One story said she recently had a liver transplant, and that her death is believed to be related to that.

Goddamn that sucks. I hated her character on Buffy, but she was clearly a talented actor and 39 is just too damn young.

My favorite song of hers:

Yeah, I liked Dawn, but she was pretty clearly, and awkwardly, shoved into the cast to try to appeal to a younger audience.

Oh no! :disappointed_relieved:

This started as a YouTuber trying to raise a store bought live lobster as a pet a few years back. Leon, the lobster seemed to be thriving but stopped molting regularly, and didn’t survive the most recent molt. RIP little guy.

Oh, no! He worked so hard to create great environments for Leon, and fed him well, and took such great care of him. He - and we! - loved Leon so much. tophat-cry tophat-sad

Indeed. I followed his channel precisely because he seemed to be genuinely interested in a great habitat versus just doing this project as a stunt for some clicks.

And @Nick_Warr - I wonder what happened to them?

I saw that story this morning, too, and it does seem odd. Gas leak, maybe? Hackman was 95. His death on its own wouldn’t raise any questions, but his wife was 60 something, I think. And then for the dog to die, too . . . it sounds like a gas leak to me, but who knows?

Hopefully it’s not something really ugly :pensive:

Could be something like that
the police said they did not believe there was foul play, so I don’t know what else it could be.

They said no foul play was suspected, so I doubt it’s anything ugly.

CO poisoning?

ETA: no

Not Leon!

That was my first thought - from what I’ve read about it, its “symptoms” are very easily mistakable for other things (headache, confusion), and there’s no tell-tale odor like the one added to natural gas supplies.

It’s certainly suggested by the AP article:

I was just going to post that article.

Something weird happened.

Hackman, 95, was found dead Wednesday in a mudroom and his 63-year-old wife, Betsy Arakawa, was found dead in a bathroom next to a space heater, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office detectives wrote in a search warrant. There was an open prescription bottle and pills scattered on a countertop near Arakawa.

A dead German shepherd was found in a bathroom closet near Arakawa, police said. Two healthy dogs were found on the property.
